Hi! I tried to use the IONITY chargers at Beaconsfield last Tuesday, and got a curious error message saying that charging couldn’t start because the car, a Renault Zoe 50, wasn’t switched off. Any idea what was going on?
Hi Phillip, hopefully by now you have realized that you need to press the the start stop button before charging. This would appear to confirm the message displayed by Ionity, if your screen was still in drive mode. If your car was in drive mode you should have heard a alarm saying your car was running, when you opened the door.
Hi Nick. I don’t know, I’m afraid. I’m sure the ‘gear’ was in N rather than Reverse or Drive. The car may not have been locked - could that be the problem? It happened exactly the same at two chargers, so I doubt that it was a charger fault.

What the car turned off as in not in “ready” mode or ignition on?
