OK I am confused. I have just taken delivery of my new Zoe and find that I am bemused by the large number of charging station apps available.
I would welcome any advice on the better options to use whilst away from home, preferably without monthly membership charges.
Osprey and Gridserve are the only chargers that have worked 100% of the time for me. And I really can't be bothered with chargers which don't have a tether. I've put in a home charger now, seemed easier and I rarely travel long distance.
Just avoid Pod Point, awful chargers that lose connection and an even worse app. They also have no contactless payment.
In my so far limited experience BP Pulse, which has high-speed charging and uses contactless credit cards, is very good. There are not many available yet, but TESLA Supercharger stations that accept non-TESLA cars are very quick and convenient as there are lots of charging points.
The instructions on the pay points are pretty good
I use charge point (they send you a contactless card) and it works well. It is particularly good if you drive abroad... They have lots of compatible chargers. I also use ZapMap in the UK.
To be fair I don’t do many long trips so don’t need to use commercial charge point very often but I use zap map which is independent from the suppliers.
