hi there
new to the forum hello !
having purchased a zoe van business + it will not charge at home, the charger trips with a type 29 earth fault message a visit to Renault for new electrics has not resolved the issue zappi replaced the unit and still the fault remains a Zoe courtesy car was supplied while the van was in the workshop which charged as intended, so ii have now been using the courtesy car for three months and the supplier is ignoring me as they say its been escalated to Renault HQ any thoughts
Kerry, is this a "Earth insulation not appropriate" error and has it been resolved? We're about to purchase a Zappi charger for a Zoe (12 month old) that I'm buying so does anyone know if this is this a common issue, and does it only affect Zappi chargers?
Hi Kerry, On the bright side, your vehicle will have very low mileage on it :) All joking aside, I would say it was a charger issue, but you have thrown me when you said it works on the courtesy car. The Zoe does like a good earth, or it will bring up warning messages and not charge.
With regards the fault, were you able to charge it everywhere other than home?
When you say supplier, are you referring to the dealership? I would suggest a call to Renault customer services to ask for an update. The number is 0344 335 0000
Hi Kerry
not sure this will help right now but…..
I too have a business + van with rapid charge and a few nice extras … leased as a company vehicle / new from jan 2022, I can only add its been brilliant and find it difficult to fault at all ! Hot summer temperatures had 265 miles and very cold days 180 +. i use a Wallbox pulsar plus charger at home all been superb and I use whatever I need when out and need a charge / top up.
i thought I read last year when reading up on new EV vans, that early Zoe’s could have earth issues with several charger systems but I haven’t had any at all and I guess having a courtesy car that has worked ok we have to guess your van has / had an issue. If the courtesy car is free on loan Renault will get back to you in the end … I guess keep annoying them and your salesperson and definitely good luck 🤞 hope it all works out for you.
