I have today just got my 21 plate Zoe
100kW GT Line R135 50kWh, I charged up to 100% as at 80% when delivered it was only showing 99 miles. I've now charged it to 100% and it's only showing 125 miles, this is alarming less than what I thought the Zoe would achieve?
Car was only driven 4 miles today so unsure if this would have impact??
Range is estimated by the car based on available charge and recent driving so you will not get a good range prediction until you reset and cover a few miles the way you intend to drive yourself. I charged last night and the Renault app is showing 114 miles predicted range from the 62% charge I put into the car.
Don't charge it to 100% unless you absolutely need to, it accelerates the battery degradation. you should aim for 80% maximum.
My car is currently showing 128 miles at 80% charge, temperature does make a huge difference as does battery state of health.
I measured my battery State Of Health last week and it recorded 97.69% at 5199 miles. My car is an ex lease car at approx 3000 miles the SOH was 97.85%, since that reading I have only charged up to around 70-75%, dropping to 40-50% before putting back on charge. I think the result speaks for itself. Richy
Has your predicted mileage improved since you first posted?
Honestly all do not get to hung up on this. Here is a link to show you how to reset the range https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZjLz3LCRDSk battery state of health will be still be a factor determining the range after reset, so if after doing the reset your range is still low its worth getting your battery state of health checked. I'm getting about 150 - 180 in the winter. Like people have already said, don't worry yet. Wait til you have had a couple of cycles of driving and charging.
Hi Lindsay. I wouldn't be concerned just yet. The delivery driver was probably driving fast on the motorway, which is the worst case scenario for range. It will look at the way you use it now and will adjust the range accordingly. Did you receive a battery condition report when you purchased the vehicle?
Take no notice, nothing to worry about, when my wife had a blow out and drove it home it went down to 80 miles. As I understand it, the car looks at the driving history and compares this to the battery consumption, as in my case, short trips, low temperatures, high energy consumption due to heating, my mileage was also very low, but you can reset this, their is a youtube video somewhere, you press the buttons on the steering wheel until you get the mileage/consumption up on the dash then press and hold reset, then as if my magic the mileage just ratchets up as you have cleared out the memory.
What is more concerning is the battery state of health, I am a little paranoid about this, in the end I managed to read mine which was 97.85% at 4000 miles. I only charge to 70% as a consequence and run down to the lowest 40%.
As long as your battery is OK, mileage display is just an historical calculation, pay no attention to it, unless your doing a long journey of course. Richy
Certainly no expert but that does seem very low. I have a 72 plate Zoe and at this time of year my car is showing about 200 miles on a full charge. In the summer / warmer weather of course this is considerably higher. With careful driving I am getting about 20 miles/ 10% battery during the colder weather. Perhaps if you run your battery down to about 25% then charge up to about 75% hopefully it will show a range of something like 150 miles. Otherwise it would seem that there is some sort of issue with your car. Good luck.
