Hi all, We have a Zoe GT Line ZE50 and have owned it for 6 months, always charging at home 7KW. We have a longer journey to make so I was investigating the CCS option and looked at the charging socket. I found that i could not open the CCS flap under the type 2 socket, it seems to be sticking. Since then i have heard that CCS charging is not standard but an option on the 2021 GT line, how do I know for sure if i have it or not and that it is not just a sticking flap???

I would find 22kw charging sufficent but for the fear that it may not be as common in the future as it is today.
Hello Rich,
Can you clarify on what you said, “rapid 50kW charging - unlocking faster recharging - is available for £750 on Iconic and GT Line models.” Do you know if this can be added at a later date or it was a factory option.
Thanks
2020 ZOE ZE50 Perhaps most important for EV drivers, is that the Factory order option at manufacture of rapid 50kW charging - unlocking faster recharging - is available for £750 on Iconic and GT Line models.
Personally unless you get substantially more than £1,000 I would reject the car, the ommision of the 50kW CCS charging ability will hurt your resale value, buyers will be searching out this industry norm, the Renault dealer made the mistake it is on them.

Hi
Following on from my last post regarding buying a Zoe from a dealer, advertised as the Rapid Charge variant only to find after a few days what I thought was the Rapid Charge Port was in fact just a blanking piece.
I am currently in "discussion" (to put it politely!) with the dealer regarding a partial refund.
Does anyone one know what the price difference in 2021 was between the Rapid Charge and Standard Charge variants?
A figure of about £850 was once mentioned.
I am asking for a refund of the price difference, depreciated by 2 years.
Regards
David
Hi
Thanks for all the advice. It has + + on the lower flap so does not have CSS charging but was sold as having Rapid Charging.
It charges fine at 22KW
Does anyone know if 43KW charging was an option in 2021?
Non of the charge stations in my area offer 43KW charging.
I paid for an HPI check on the car but there is no mention of the charging options.
I could live with 22KW charging OK but on my receipt it definitely says Rapid Charging.
Can anyone suggest what the difference in price is for a 2 year old Zoe between rapid and 22KW charging?
Since it does not have Rapid Charging I am going to ask for a partial refund but want to start off with a reasonable request and want to have all the facts correct before I ask them.
Regards
Dave
If it has the ++ on the bottom part which does not open it will be max 22kwh on AC charging.
You can confirm whether it is Rapid Charge by putting your registration into this Google Play App 'Check The Car'
Early models of ZE50 could have had the factory option of CCS if extra was paid, the 'Play' model never had it and couldn't have it

Hi David,
I believe you will have only a type 2 22kw charger, same as i found out after i had purchased my Zoe. I was told that if i wanted CCS charging the only option was to buy another car. However I have learned to live with the 22kw charger, it suits our everyday needs and we love the car. The only real problem is if we go long distance, 150 mile or more then finding type 2 none CCS chargers is not always easy because there are not so many of them. Hope this helps. Derek
Hi
I have just bought a 2021 ZOE
Spec is
Derivative 100kW i Iconic R135 50kWh Rapid Charge 5dr Auto
Now I thought when I bought it Rapid Charge = CCS charge.
It had what looked like a CCS port but when I went to open the port it turns out that the top part is a normal Type 2 port and the bottom part is a blanking off piece with the (dreaded) + + sign.
Have I been "done" or could Rapid Charge mean 43KW AC charging?
There are no 43 KW chargers near me.
Just 22KW Type 2 and CCS chargers.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Regards
Dave
This has a familiar ring to it - I went to collect my GT line from the dealer, assuming that all GT lines had CCS. Seems the dealer thought so too, as he tried to prise open the bottom flap with his key! Nothing doing, clearly, so BEWARE people!
If the lower part of the flap has '+ +' it is just a blank and the ZOE does not have Rapid Charge CCS capability
Hi Derek, I suspect it is not got CGS but if you want to email me your registration number, I should be able to confirm. My email is jon.southam@smithsmotorgroup.co.uk
if the cover doesn't open you havn't got ccs its a blank your restricted to AC 22kw
Hi David, The car was brought pre-owned from the Renault dealer, they have not returned my call yet, my local dealer just said it was ordered as “standard charge”
Did you order GT Line Rapid Charge?
Hi, thanks for posting, I have been to the dealer and the build sheet states standard charger, which i presume is not CCS. It would just be nice to know 100%.
Hi I have Zoe GT line 2021 with rapid charge included which gives the ability to charge with a CCS connector both flaps open with ease when I release the clasp it shouldn't be stuck I hope that helps.
