It's hard to know without seeing the exact symbol you mention - but I tihnk it can mean that you are in an 'avaerage speed check' area.......
…..that said, I noticed yesterday that some digital stations , eg radio 4, have their logo displayed where this radio mast is instead. So I’m guessing it’s a symbol for when the station’s logo is unavailable.
