Hello
I'm looking into buying a Zoe "100KW i GT line R135 50KWH fast charge" model.
I'm new to electric cars and realise the i stands for battery owned (which is what I want), and i understand the battery is 50KWH (or 52KWH) but what does the 100KW at the beginning mean ? I've also read that i possibly need a CCS upgrade to be able to rapid charge, which is a load more money.
Can i ask the forum for any tips on buying a zoe from a Renault dealer and anything I need to look out for or check, updates etc. Diagnostic battery checks?
The big question is if there is "fast charge" in the name does it fast charge or do I need to pay for a CCS upgrade to be able to fast charge?
Your replies are much appreciated
Mike
We own a 52kwh Zoë with CCS. I think you should get the CCS if you want to charge anywhere beyond home... We drove to Switzerland from Suffolk last summer - we couldn't have done that without CCS.
Morning Mike,
The 100KWH is the power of the Motor, the 135 is the bhp and the 50KWH is the size of the battery.
With regards CGS, I am not aware of an aftermarket fit available. If it hasn't got the quick charge option the bottom flap will be solid whereas if it has got it, it will be hinged and show an additional two female connectors.
The need for option will depend on you to be honest, I do circa 20,000 miles a year and have used only once in the last twelve months but I am able to charge both at home and work. If you choose a Zoe without CGS, you will still be able to charge at 22kwh.
Dependent on the age of Zoë you purchase, it may benefit from a BMS update (if it has not already been done), the vehicle comes with an 8 year battery warranty , and dependent on how old, will either come with the balance of the Manufacturers warranty or a warranty from the dealership you purchase. As a company, we only use the Renault approved warranty but it would be worth checking as not all dealerships do.
We have a selection of nearly new and pre owned vehicles available, some of which qualify for 0% finance.
