Is there any way of telling the car to automatically stop charging once the battery has reached 80% ? (Sorry if this question has been asked else where - if it has I haven’t been able to find the thread 🤔). Most current EV’s can do this , but I know the Zoe is a 12 year old design and now out of production. I feel it is unlikely that Renault will add any extra capabilities via software and so hope that it can be done already !! Here’s hoping 👍

Stopping short of 100% is a personal choice but I think this gives the battery the best chance of a longer life. I use Ovo as Electricity supplier and their App lets me choose how full I want the battery and the time I need it to be charged by. They achieve this by remotely monitoring charge progress and switching between instant charge when they want charging to start and scheduled charge (with far off times) when they want it to stop. If you are prepared to calculate roughly how long it will take to get to your preferred charge level, you can work this yourself by setting a calculated time window for the charge i.e. 4 hrs at 7kw will give you ~28kw which would take you from 26% charged to 80% approx.
Don't think so but my "hot take" is that I'd not want to limit myself to 60% of the battery/range :) all to save maybe a couple % capacity over 10 years for probably the next owner's benefit. That said, on a rapid you'd normally pull out at 80 anyway. At home just don't keep plugging in every day keeping it at like 95-100% - let it run down like a petrol tank, sure only let it go down to 20, then refill. I'm sure that'd be fine. A small amount of head and foot room is designed into the BMS anyway, the pack is more than what you're allowed to use.
You can set schedules for charging via the Renault app. I normally use my charger's app to set the charge percentage though. I don't know why you would want to stop at 80% though.
