Hi Folks. Just a quick one. My Zoe was written off a few months ago. The insurance company came through and settled most of the cost of the car. It was a battery lease model. 2014. Renault Finance are now saying that I need to pay them a substantial sum to settle the cost of the battery. I didn't realise I had to add the cost of the battery to the insurance policy. My mistake. Just wanted to double check before paying Renault Finance. Thanks for any advice.

. sorry to hear that your car was written off. Appreciate the heads up about the insurance cover for the battery I have checked to make sure that mine does cover the battery thanks a lot
Hi Tim
Sorry to hear that. Every year I check with the insurers that the battery is included, a couple of them have seemed surprised and said that the battery is included as standard, so is it worth double-checking with your insurers ?
Hi, Unfortunately you would be responsible for the battery if your insurance company did not cover it as part of the policy. Ironically, if you had owned the battery, it would have been included within the value of the vehicle.
Have you spoken to RCI? hopefully you can negotiate value or failing that, can you purchase the car from the insurers and look to dispose of yourself? I see many posts on facebook with customers asking for batteries, so there must be a market.
