I have a 2021 ZE50 due for year four service soon ,as Ive only done just over 8000 miles is it necessary to re place 12v battery and brake fluid when in theory I could have done 72,000 miles before they are both required
My 2020 36k mileage ZE50 had its 4 year service Sep 2024. 12v Bat was given a health check and came back v good as 96% healthy so it wasn't changed had no warning lights. Brake fluid wise as there had been an advisory on the rear brakes and discs it was changed as part of the change of those. Was also advised to get the AC gas serviced and it was worth it and was done by a Mobile unit.
I had my four year service and told them not to change the brake fluid as I had tested it and it didn't need changing and the 12v battery was showing good health so again told them not to put a new one on. Two months later I had a message come up on the dash display " Charging impossible". I booked in under warranty (two week wait) they checked it out and informed the 12v battery needed changing, I told them it was showing 13.4v so it was okay and didn't need to be changed.
Bottom line they tried one on my car the warning disappeared straight away so even though my battery at four years old was showing good health it needed a to be changed at a cost of £175, I've not had any warning messages since.
So I would buy one and fit it yourself if you can and save some cash and the chance of being unable to charge your car for two weeks.
Hi, like you I do a low mileage and I did not have the battery changed last year. With my backgrund in the motor trade I knew that it was not really necessary but in order to monitor the state of the battery I fitted a voltmeter that I plugged into the 12v socket. The voltage of the battery should show a constant
13v to 14v which mine is showing more than a year after I would have changed it as Renault suggest.
