Just bought a May 22 GT Line Plus with 3000 miles. Went on holiday for 10 days in other car. Zoe lost 24 percent of charge (64 to 40) in that time parket in garage. Is this normal?
When I bought my used Zoe my neighbour told me he heard it 'running' on the drive early in the morming. When I got round to investigating I found there is a preset to warm the car up . You need to go into 'Settings' and find the the timer settings, both days and hours are programmable, Mine was going off at 6 am. I didnt think it was a big drain on the battery but perhaps this contributed to your loss.
I think the heat pump must run off the traction battery, I think the capacity is approx 2kw, so its likely consumption is around 1kw. On a 12v battery that would be around 80A drain which would kill the 12v battery very quickly, not to mention the cabling to the system would need to be quite heavy, if it were fed from the traction battery then a 3A supply would be adequate which can easily be accommodated from typical auto wiring. So I would put my money on the heat pump being fed off the main 52kwh battery, I have also read somewhere that the pre conditioning does not work when the traction battery falls below 20% charge. I agree with Richard that it would seem to be something draining it as does seem a bit too much for it to drop in only ten days perhaps it might be worth asking you local main dealer to investigate it for you.
All modern ICE cars have something called paracetic drain where the car is continuously draining the 12v battery but the amount is quite small 50-85mA is considered the norm and acceptable and I wouldn't expect electric cars to be much different. This could amount to 170w over a week at the worst case, in your case 12kw is 70 times greater. I had a problem once on a Vauxhall Antara where it was discharging the battery and I measured the parasetic drain which was approx 450mA. It turned out that the dog had knocked the interior light switch at the back of the car, when turned off the drain went back down to 40mA. So it is worth having a good look around to check that nothing is left switched on or plugged in. Richy

Hi
Right now its -6C and my Zoe is covered in frost.
However there are two circles about 3" diameter frost free on the windscreen.
Something is generating enough heat to keep this frost free.
Over a period of time that may account for battery drain.
I thought that all auxilary devices ran of the 12V system and when running the traction battery charged the 12V battery.
Will the traction battery keep the 12V battery charged when the vehicle is not being used?

What was the temperture while it was left unused?
Weather has been pretty cold of late.
E.V. batteries do loose capacity in very cold conditions but even so loosing 12kwh in 10 days does seem extreme.

So you have lost 12kwh of energy, that seems a little extreme to me, more likely you have a small drain like perhaps an interior light or something.
