Hi all I am looking buy a 2.5 year old Zoe (70 plate) ZE50 GT Line. It has done 11k miles. The Battery state of health is 92%. Is this normal? It has the optional 50Kw so may have been rapid charged in the past. The battery cells are ok according to the battery report. What are your thoughts?
Many thanks
Chis
Might be to late now. But some other reader might need to know.
The BMS software on most ZE50 was/(is) a joke regarding SoH. It was not solved until rather recently, and even after that was brand new deliverd ZE50 cars sold without the firmware update. So in short IF the energy stat screen do not exist, then the battery SoH even from the CanZE is close to useless as it includes a temperature dependency. Only when the cat battery was above 25 C in all cells and it was fully charged was the SoH figure sort of correct. In all other conditions was it faulty (especially below -10 C). Prior to the firmware update I did see 96%. 88%, 92%, 86% and back to 95% (I got it in Now 2021 at 8,600km). If I would have trusted that I would never have got the car or keept owning it. Now is my ZE50 R135 May 2020 at 130,000km and with a SoH at 95%.
Watching a number of YouTube channels, they say that there is a more recent BMS update that more accurately reflects the actual range and battery health figures than the one available in late 2020. Reportedly the old one gives a lower battery health and car range than the more recent software. That's really all I know at the moment
How did you find out the battery state?
