We have just bought a used Zoe and have a query regarding the use of apps versus in car scheduling.
What is generally the easiest route and do conflicts occur if you set up a schedule on more than one method?
Specifically, we have My Renault, myenergi apps and the in car route.
Thanks
Mike
It's good to hear these comments. Thanks for helping to accelerate the learning curve.
Our car in car charge is set to connect straight away but we set the Rolec Qubev wall charger app to do it at set times. We find the wall charger app to be more reliable than Renault. It's never let us down.
To give a different option, my Zoe is charging at 7kw right now (15:35 and has been charging since 8am off and on). I use the Ovo Charge Anytime 10p/kWh app and that controls delivery of power by accessing the car and altering the charge scheduler - no clever/expensive charging box required. The car is left connected to a 32a outlet via a dumb-ish charging lead set to 32a, normally overnight but I was pleasantly suprised to find today that, when I set it to charge at 8am today with a target of 80% by 19:30 tonight, it seems to be delivering the "Anytime" goods. I leave my car by default with a charge set for 1 minute at 11pm every day of the week but it isn't plugged in unless I want a charge so that never happens. After each charge I reset the schedule on the car from whatever was last set by Ovo.
My car car is setup to accept a charge at any time and I regulate the charging via the Ohme Home Pro charger app. It is set to only charge during off peak hours irrespective of when it is plugged in. That way if I need to use a public charger the car should be able to accept the charge. I also only charge to 75% to minimise battery degrigation which is also controlled by the charger. I havent quite worked out what I'm going to do when I loose the cars data connection in just under 2 years time. Richy
