I see Halfords are now advertising that they service electric cars at a much cheaper rate than Renault do and Halfords say it will not invalidate your warranty.
Surely Halfords can say what they like, its Renault who underwrite the warranty, its what they say that matters. In a recent conversation with Renault Customer Services over the service request on my app I was told that providing I have written proof that the servicing was carried out by a main dealer the warranty would be honoured. To my knowledge Halfords are not a Renault main dealer and I'm not sure of the legality of Renaults comments but that was what they said. Remember talk is cheap !
Thats fine in theory, but you may then be asked to provide evidence that the schedule has been complied with and parts are OEM, the other matter is software upgrades, I doubt Halfords will have access to these, I wonder what impact if these are not carried out, especially if your needing to replace the main battery under warranty.
What I do know is the advice given by customer services was a main dealer service to maintain the warranty. The reasoning behind this I did not go into any further.
