You MUST fight them. And it MUST be an authorized Renault EV service technician. Those are hard to find, especially those that actually want to solve issues. Mine actually forbid me to tell his work location and how he was able to solve it as that would only add to his already huge workload...
USE the tips in "Just watched https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iA3p7p3AF60 on the BMS update. As well as the Energy Info screen ACTIS numbers (64756 & 64273), he quotes the BMS Solution ACTIS Number: 64453 "
And fight hard until it is solved, after warranty time it will not be solved even if you would voluntarily try to pay for the work...
Renault sucks regarding software updates/fixes. I would most likely never get a Renault EV again, and this is the main reason.
Yes, the double click on the unlock button on the key-FOB is rather neat. If it also would work for unlocking the charging door without a connected charging cable it would have been even better.
And now when the Android app is "non-functional" for starting pre-heat a dual click on the headlight button on the key-FOB should start the pre-heat/pre-cool cycle would have been a great thing...
The software issues ACTIS numbers (64756 & 64273) did help me with scheduled preheating on my May 2020 ZE50 R135, it did take them a month. But I had another Zoe as a loaner so no issue (also an R135 but it only delivered 100kW maximum, my R135 does deliver 110kW in identical conditions). The strange part is that they did need to replace a hardware part (with delivery time) before it would work (I do not know what). But if the preheat time does not work or your energy screen does not exist, fix it prior to the end of the warranty...
The thing with ACTIS numbers (64756 & 64273) is that the car was at the service centers for the same issue and they could not solve it. It was not until I actually could point out ACTIS numbers (64756 & 64273) AND my problem that it was possible to solve...
Just an update, I've found a friendly dealer that seems happy to update, Simon is right mention the faults and maybe suggest the solution numbers. Fingers crossed will report back at the end of the month.
I bought my 2020 Zoe GTLine from SCM Weybridge. it’s still under warranty but when I ask about the energy info screen not being like it shows in the manual they say that all the cars are just different so nothing they can do. Is there anything official I can point them to so that they know what to do?
My car went in for its first service today; I also asked for the Battery Management System & Energy Info Screen ACTIS solution updates to be done. The Battery Management System update was successful and my 80% charge displayed range went from 188 miles pre-service to 201 miles afterwards, so that was well worth doing. Thanks to @EV Nick for the info.
The Energy Info Screen updates weren't quite as successful, as they had a problem downloading one of the two updates, so I've got pop back in next week so that they can complete that.
Hello - Thanks for the video @EV Nick. I've been watching them this week before I picked up my Zoe yesterday and I found this club through them. It's a 2020 ZE50 Iconic with the smaller centre screen.
I asked the dealer if it has had all it's updates etc and they assured me it was all up to date. The car has around 13k miles on it and the range is showing +200 with a full charge so I've assumed it has had it's BMS updates.
However, I do not have the Energy info screen under the car info menu. Is it expected that I should have this on the smaller screen in the Iconic?
Thank you @Jon@Smiths for the offer. I've got it booked in next month at Holdcroft's in Stoke now, which is quite a bit nearer for me (17 miles). As it was getting close, I'm doubling it up with my first service. Hopefully, they will sort it.
I've got my ZE50 booked in next week to see if I can get the updates, mentioned in the video, done.Renault UK have given me a couple of ACTIS numbers (64756 & 64273) for the Energy Info Screen update, but they haven't been as forthcoming on the Battery Management System update. I'm hoping that my local dealer will be on the ball, but does anyone have any additional info I can provide them with, just in case?
Much prefer the video's from @EV Nick . From a dealer's point of view, quoting solution numbers is dangerous as they can only carry out repairs when there is a fault.
if you book your car in for "energy screen not displaying as per the handbook", a dealer can investigate and carry out any known solutions.
I know some will think that is a dealer being picky, but they have to follow rules and get audited.
Yes @Jon@Smiths when I spoke to my local(ish) dealer the need to report these issues as 'faults' was explained to me.My Battery Management System update went smoothly, but with the energy screen display it took them three visits to get one of the two updates to load on to my car (an issue at the dealership rather than with my car). And another thumbs up for @EV Nick's videos.
I had similar experience, took them nearly two weeks to install the updates for me. Something to do with update system not allowing them to push update to the car and having to get Renault Involved. However had a courtesy car (Dacia Sandero 1.0 (horrible)) so wasn't stranded.
However since update around September time, everytime I unplug car and reset trip, it appears to fail to record the battery usage and only records regen resulting in figures like 50 miles pkwh :) Have to reset it after a few miles then it works correctly (I think). Can't be bothered going back to the dealer though for another two week wait!

Thanks to EV Nick I have discovered the quick release function for the charging cable.

Hi I called at the dealers and they have no record on the computer for any updates or upgrades.
