Renault will showcase its Twingo E-Tech electric prototype at the 2024 Paris Motor Show from October 14 to 20. First revealed in November 2023, this prototype will debut publicly at the event.
The original Twingo, launched in 1992, revolutionized the automotive world with its vibrant colours and user-friendly design, embodying Renault’s “Les voitures à vivre” philosophy. The Twingo E-Tech electric prototype rekindles this spirit, offering an all-electric, city-friendly vehicle without compromises.
This prototype retains the original’s clever and unexpected design, featuring a minimalistic silhouette, mischievous headlamps, and remarkable agility. Its compact size and five-door configuration make it practical for urban environments, while a fixed glass roof floods the spacious interior with light, staying true to Renault’s design ethos.
Modern touches inspired by the first Twingo enhance its character, with floating LED ring headlamps and a sleek, tech-forward look. The rear design echoes Twingo’s original iconic tail, with updated taillights and cheerful Twingo lettering on the tailgate.
The Twingo E-Tech electric prototype’s expressive face, rounded headlamps, and ample glass roof create a light-filled, inviting interior. Iconic round door handles from the 1992 model are reimagined with illuminated rims, and three small bonnet openings pay homage to the car’s legacy.
This prototype marks the next chapter in the Twingo story, leading to the fourth-generation production model set for 2026. Developed by Ampere, it aims to offer an entry price below €20,000, aligning with Renault’s commitment to accessible electric mobility, as seen in models like the Renault 5 E-Tech, Renault 4 E-Tech, Megane E-Tech, and Scenic E-Tech.
