Alpine version of the 100% electric Renault 5 is expected in 2024.
Will feature a 160kW motor with a potential 6-second 0-60mph time.
Should have a range of over 200 miles.
The motoring press has been reporting more details of something exciting on the horizon if you’re longing for an electrified hot hatch!
Alpine’s vice-president for engineering, Gilles le Borgne, has confirmed the brand will produce a hot version of the highly-anticipated all-electric Renault 5. The car will feature a 160kW (215bhp) from the Megane E-Tech Electric which could result in a 0-60mph time of about 6 seconds. This is significantly more powerful than the 100kW motor expected to be fitted to the standard R5.
le Borgne also revealed the car will be front-wheel-drive and it is expected the car will be fitted with a 52kWh battery allowing for a range above 200 miles.
