The Renault Scenic Electric is a new electric SUV that will be launched in the UK in 2024. It is based on the CMF-EV platform that also underpins the Renault Megane E-Tech Electric. Here are some of the key features of the Renault Scenic Electric:
It will be available with two battery options: a 60 kWh Standard Range and an 87 kWh High Range. The Standard Range will offer 167 bhp and a range of more than 261 miles, while the High Range will offer 217 bhp and a range of more than 385 miles.
It will feature a heat pump as standard, which should improve the efficiency and reduce the range loss in cold weather.
It will support fast-charging up to 130 kW for the Standard Range and 150 kW for the High Range, allowing it to recharge from 15% to 80% in around 30 minutes.
It will have a spacious and practical interior, with plenty of headroom, legroom, storage space and a 545-litre boot. The rear armrest will have swiveling mounts for phones or tablets, cupholders and USB ports.
It will have a 12.3-inch digital driver display and a 12-inch portrait-oriented central touchscreen, which will run Renault’s Google-based OpenR Link infotainment system.
It will have an optional Solarbay panoramic roof, which can opacify one segment at a time using Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystals (PDLC) and an electric field, allowing different levels of light in different parts of the car.
It will have a unique sound signature created by electro-pop pioneer Jean-Michel Jarre, who composed four different sounds for the car: one for starting up, one for driving, one for reversing and one for parking.
It is expected to cost from under £40,000, with UK pricing and specifications to be announced in early 2024. It will be offered in three trim levels: Techno, Iconic and Esprit Alpine
